Education Trip 2005
Washington, D.C.
On Sunday July 24th we'll have a joint worship service at Trinity at 10am (CDT) where we'll commission our youth and their chaperones for their trip. After worship we'll have a potluck lunch and then load up our things for a quick drive to the Green Bay Greyhound Bus Depot.
We'll be on the bus for about 23 hours (each way), arriving in Washington, D.C. on Monday July 25th about 4pm (EDT).
We'll be working at a food pantry in the mornings and then seeing the sights in the city during the afternoons.
Some of the special things we're planning are...
Visits to some of the museums of the Smithsonian Institute
A trip to Arlington National Cemetery
Visits the the memorials & monuments that line the Mall
Thursday we'll be visiting the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum
Friday we'll worship with a group from a local Jewish synagogue
Saturday we'll attend worship at the National Cathedral
We're staying at the Howard Johnson Express and we'll surely be enjoying their breakfasts & the pool! (If this link doesn't work just go to the Howard Johnson's main webpage here and do a search for the only property in Washington, D.C.)
